Tagging Marlin in Costa RicaWelcome Letter From The IGFA

Dear Todd Staley,

I’m excited to announce the appointment of the new IGFA Central America & Caribbean Regional Council, which represents another significant step forward in our effort to strengthen the IGFA’s international network.

Following our regional meeting in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in August, IGFA members, representatives, captains and trustees residing in the region participated in a two-week nomination process to recommend council officers and committee members. A total of 51 nominations were received and reviewed by IGFA staff and trustees. After careful deliberation, the following individuals have been selected as officers and members of the IGFA Central America & Caribbean Regional Council.

As a reminder, the purpose of the IGFA Regional Councils is to create local organizational structures to help the IGFA drive our mission of  game fishing conservation and the promotion of ethical angling practices around the world. IGFA Regional Councils will assist IGFA headquarters in maintaining and cultivating relationships with IGFA clubs, captains, weigh stations and members in their geographies.

For additional information on the IGFA Regional Council structure, responsibilities, and nomination processes, and to learn more about the newly appointed IGFA Central America & Caribbean Regional Council please click HERE.

Please join me in thanking and congratulating the new council officers and committee members in their commitment to serve.

Let’s Fish for the World!

Nehl Horton
IGFA President
