Two Members of FECOP Appointed to New IGFA Central American and Caribbean Council

For Immediate Release – October, 2019 – Two members of FECOP have been chosen as members of the IGFA’s new Central America & Caribbean Regional Council focusing on sport fishing conservation.

“We are proud  to be chosen for  IGFA’s newest Central America and Caribbean regional council out of 51 nominations to help drive fishing conservation and ethical angling practices in Central America and the Caribbean.”

FECOP now has two staff members assigned to the new IGFA Central American and Caribbean Council. FECOP Director of Science Marina Marrari (Science board) and FECOP Communications Director Todd Staley (Conservation and Youth Education)

Welcome Letter From The IGFA

Dear Todd Staley,

I’m excited to announce the appointment of the new IGFA Central America & Caribbean Regional Council, which represents another significant step forward in our effort to strengthen the IGFA’s international network.

Following our regional meeting in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in August, IGFA members, representatives, captains and trustees residing in the region participated in a two-week nomination process to recommend council officers and committee members. A total of 51 nominations were received and reviewed by IGFA staff and trustees. After careful deliberation, the following individuals have been selected as officers and members of the IGFA Central America & Caribbean Regional Council.
